Terms of service

Last updated:

The short version. Lookover is a SketchUp extension plus an online service that reviews your model. You need a license key to use it. Payments go through Polar, which is the seller and handles tax, receipts and refunds. Each key is for one customer and has a monthly review limit. Reviews are automated and can be wrong, so check a fix before you rely on it. You can cancel any time.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Lookover is made by Lookahead Labs LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Lookover SketchUp extension (the “extension”), the hosted review service it connects to (the “service”), the lookoverreview.com website, and the license keys we issue. Together we call these “Lookover”.

By installing the extension, entering a license key or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Lookover for a company, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to. You must be at least 18 years old to use Lookover. If you do not agree, do not use Lookover.

2. Polar is the seller

Plans are sold through Polar (Polar Software, Inc., polar.sh), which acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller. When you check out, you buy from Polar, and Polar handles payment, sales tax and VAT, receipts, invoices, renewals, failed payments, refunds and chargebacks under the Polar Buyer Terms. Those terms apply to the purchase itself. These terms apply to your use of Lookover.

3. Plans and limits

Unused reviews do not carry over. A review that fails on our side does not count toward your limit. We may change plans and prices for the future; a price change for an existing subscription takes effect at a later renewal, and we or Polar will tell you before it does.

4. Subscriptions and cancellation

Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the Polar customer portal (sign in with the email you bought with). Pro then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, after which your key returns to the Free plan. Your key does not change. See Refunds and cancellation for refunds.

5. License keys

6. The extension and the service

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the extension with SketchUp, and to use the service, while you follow these terms. We keep all rights we do not expressly grant.

A review needs an internet connection. The extension sends an outline of your model, screenshots and the results of read-only queries to our service, which uses third-party AI models to analyze them. The details are in our Privacy Policy. You must have the right to send us the models you review.

We may change, improve or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service as a whole, we will give reasonable notice and ask Polar to refund the unused part of any prepaid yearly plan.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

If you break these rules we may suspend or end your access. If the breach is not deliberate and can be fixed, we will normally contact you first.

8. Your models and the results

Your models stay yours. You give us permission to process the model information the extension sends only to run your reviews, to keep the service working and secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your models to train AI models, and we do not sell them.

The findings and fixes a review produces are yours to use. Similar models can produce similar findings for other users.

9. Findings and fixes can be wrong

Lookover combines deterministic checks with AI analysis. AI findings can be incomplete or wrong, and a fix (AI-suggested or not) can change your model in ways you did not expect. Fixes run inside SketchUp as a single undo step, so you can usually undo them, but you are responsible for your models: save your model and keep backups before you apply fixes, and check the result before you rely on it. Lookover is a drafting aid, not professional engineering, architectural, structural, code-compliance or manufacturing advice.

10. Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, Lookover is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some places do not allow these exclusions; there, they apply only as far as allowed.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost or damaged work, models or data, lost profits or revenue, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of Lookover or of any finding or fix it produces. Our total liability for any claim about Lookover is limited to the amount you paid us for Lookover in the 12 months before the claim, or US$20 if that is more.

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions or limits; there, they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the place where you live.

12. Ending these terms

You can stop using Lookover at any time; uninstall the extension and cancel any subscription in the Polar portal. We may suspend or end your access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if the law requires it. Sections 8 to 11 and 13 survive the end of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and where those laws give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, you may do so. Before any formal dispute, please email us so we can try to fix the problem.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will give notice by email or in the extension before they take effect. If you keep using Lookover after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Lookover and cancel your subscription.

15. Other

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refunds and cancellation page are the whole agreement between you and us about Lookover. SketchUp is a trademark of Trimble Inc.; Lookover is not affiliated with or endorsed by Trimble.
